This reason is worth the tuition alone. Navigating jobs abroad can be extremely discouraging and confusing. the ITA (International TEFL Academy) makes the process so much easier. They truly care about finding you a job that fits your needs and priorities. Especially with the inevitable language differences, some job listings despite wanting someone teach English- don’t have any. Some places also layer information so it is difficult to understand your job description. For example, some places will only list the amount of teaching hours you are required while omitting from describing those aren’t the only hours they will ask you to be working.

I have never taken such an insightful class that truly talked about subjects that you are worried about and want to understand. This included a week on adjusting to the new life you will have and missing your family. Another week was an in depth breakdown of how to teach English only through verbal activities. This class truly prepares you for being in a classroom.

You can take the online class or the in-person class and they are constantly holding courses. If you feel like you need to wait to become more organized before taking the class you can! It will be there when you’re ready. There is also the option to take an 11 week course or a 4 week course. I took the 11 week course and highly recommend it. The pace was perfect and I feel like I got a very in depth view of everything.

Whenever you have a question whether that be about your course or finding a job, the advisor they set you up with is extremely knowledgeable on that subject. They take the time to make sure you are meeting or speaking to someone who knows about the struggle you are having. It’s extremely comforting to hear someone who genuinely knows about any concerns and works with you to find the best solution.

Due to COVID, a lot of my classes in university were online. Never in any of that time did I feel as much of a sense of community as I do from the ITA. It is truly remarkable the community they actively encourage and harbor. They want you to be apart of exciting news and to stay in touch. It is truly admirable.
